We learn how to classify angles depending on the angle. If the angle is exactly 90 degrees, we say the rays are perpendicular and the angle is called a right angle. If the angle is less than 90 degrees we say it is an acute angle. If the angle is greater than 90 degrees, we say it is an obtuse angle.
